NORCOR serves and is funded by four Oregon counties: Gilliam,
Hood River, Sherman and Wasco. It is a regional complex consisting of a Adult Correctional
Facility and a Juvenile Detention Facility.
The complex, located in The Dalles, Oregon, provides 154 (expandable to 212) adult beds
and 32 juvenile beds. In the event bed space exists beyond the four county’s needs,
NORCOR will rent bed space to other entities to generate
revenue. Average population* is 154 for the adult facility and 14 for the
juvenile facility. *Based on fiscal year 2018-2019
At the present time NORCOR has contracts with Oregon counties
Benton and Wheeler as well as a federal contract with US Marshals.
